Bus Operations Shifted from Old CBS to New CBS in Nashik
Nashik: Bus services operating from the Old CBS (Central Bus Stand) have officially been shifted to the New CBS as the old terminus is set to be demolished for redevelopment. The decision was taken by Maharashtra State Road Transport Corporation (MSRTC), Nashik Division.
The Old CBS primarily handled intradistrict bus services, including routes towards Trimbakeshwar, Surgana, Peth, and other nearby areas. Approximately 100 buses that earlier originated from Old CBS will now operate from the New CBS until further notice.
According to officials, the redevelopment project has been sanctioned by the state government. The new bus terminus will be a two-storey structure featuring 12 platforms, a waiting hall, rainwater harvesting facilities, a police chowky, and restrooms for drivers and conductors. The construction work is expected to take around 18 months to complete.
Passengers are advised to board their buses from New CBS during this period. The redevelopment aims to provide improved infrastructure and better facilities for commuters, especially ahead of major events and increasing passenger demand in Nashik.
