Nashik, Maharashtra: In preparation for the upcoming Simhastha Kumbh Mela, the Maharashtra government has unveiled an extensive transportation and crowd-management strategy aimed at ensuring a safe, smooth, and efficient pilgrimage experience for millions of devotees expected to visit Nashik.

According to the plan, approximately 4,500 buses will be deployed to facilitate the movement of pilgrims, with the capacity to transport over 3.3 million passengers daily. The initiative is designed to minimize travel disruptions and improve accessibility across key pilgrimage routes.

Officials have outlined a comprehensive mobility framework that includes:

• Road Transport: Around 2.536 million passengers are expected to travel daily through the state-run bus network.

• Special Event Planning: Customized transport management systems will be activated during major bathing days and peak pilgrimage periods.
