The entry point for train travelers. (10km from City).

New CBS (Thakkar Bazar Bus Stand)

The MAIN HUB for Trimbakeshwar Buses. Located in the city center.

Panchavati (Ramkund)

The spiritual center (Ghats) ( 10 KM Away From the Station)

Trimbakeshwar

The Jyotirlinga town (30km away from Nashik City).

1. NASHIK ROAD STATION ➔ PANCHAVATI (RAMKUND)

Most Popular

Service: Citilinc (City Bus)

Bus Stop: Exit Station, walk 200m to “Nashik Road Bus Stop”.

Bus Numbers: 254 (To Nimani/Panchavati – Frequent), 101 (To Gangapur – stops at CBS/Ashok Stambh near Panchavati).

Fare: ₹20 – ₹25 | Frequency: 15-20 mins

Shared Auto: Boarding: Outside station gate. Fare: ₹30 – ₹50 per seat.

Warning: Do not take a "Special Auto" unless you want to pay ₹200+.

2. NASHIK ROAD STATION ➔ TRIMBAKESHWAR (DIRECT)

38 KM

Direct MSRTC buses run from the station but are less frequent (Every 30-60 mins).

  1. Take a shared auto or city bus from Nashik Road Station to New CBS (Thakkar Bazar Bus Stand)
  2. From New CBS (Thakkar Bazar Bus Stand), board a direct MSRTC bus to Trimbakeshwar.
    — Buses run approximately every 15–30 minutes
    — Travel time: 45–60 minutes
    — Drops closer to the Trimbakeshwar Temple area

The Rickshaw Reality (Warning)

This is the #1 complaint of pilgrims. Outside Nashik Road Station, auto drivers often form a syndicate. They may demand ₹500 – ₹800 to drop you at Ramkund (actual value ₹150).

Ignore Touts
Don’t talk to people dragging bags inside the station.

Walk Out
Walk 200 meters to the main road for fair prices.

Use “Seat”
Ask for “Seat” (Shared) to pay ₹30-50 only.

1. THE LOCAL AIRPORT: OZAR, NASHIK (ISK)

Ozar is a Domestic Airport with primary operations by Indigo.

Note: Routes change seasonally. Pre-paid taxis to city cost ₹800 – ₹1,000.

2. FOR INTERNATIONAL TRAVELERS

20 KM FROM CITY

Option A: Via Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport (CSMIA)

Fly to Mumbai (BOM) and take a direct cab. 170km, ~4 hours drive (Excellent 4-lane Highway NH160).

Cost: Approx ₹3,500 – ₹5,000 (Private Cab)
Best for NRIs & Families

Why this is best: You can drive straight from the Mumbai terminal to your Nashik hotel.

Option B: Via Delhi (DEL)

Fly to Delhi and take a connecting flight to Nashik (ISK).
Warning: Flights to Nashik are limited (usually 1 or 2 per day). If you miss the connection, you are stuck.

Expert Tip for NRIs:
If you are landing in Mumbai, do not wait for a train. Book a Private Cab (Uber Intercity / MakeMyTrip) directly from Mumbai Airport. It is the most comfortable and reliable way to reach Nashik.”

Know Your Station: Nashik Road (NK)

It is the primary transport hub. While some trains stop at Devlali, do not get down there unless you have accommodation booked in Devlali. Nashik Road has 24/7 bus and taxi connectivity to the holy spots.

How to Reach the City (Panchavati/Ramkund) from Station

To Panchavati (Ramkund): Best Option (City Bus – Citilinc):
Step 1: Exit the station and walk 2 minutes to the main road Bus Terminal.
Step 2: Look for Bus Route No. 254.
Destination: Nimani Bus Stand (This is the closest stop to Ramkund).
Fare: Approx ₹20 – ₹25.
Frequency: Every 10-15 minutes.

Alternative (Shared Auto):
Walk to Bitco Point (Main circle outside station).
Take a “Shared Seat” auto to New CBS (Thakkar Bazar Bus Stand). From CBS, take another auto/bus to Panchavati.

How to Reach Trimbakeshwar from Station:

To Trimbakeshwar:
Direct Bus: MSRTC runs direct buses from the station to Trimbak, but frequency is lower.
Smart Route: Take a bus/auto to New CBS (Thakkar Bazar Bus Stand). From there, catch the “Nashik Trimbak” Special Bus which runs every 10 minutes.

Kumbh Mela Alerts (Critical)

  • Booking Window: Tickets open 120 days in advance. Sell out in minutes!
  • Specials: IR runs “Kumbh Mela Specials” from Mumbai, Delhi, and Kolkata.
  • Holding Areas: Expect 4-6 hour waits in barricaded “Holding Areas” during peak Shahi Snan dates.

The Highways

  • Mumbai – NH3 (Mumbai-Agra Highway) (3.5 – 4 Hours)

    Excellent 4-lane expressway via Kasara Ghat.

  • Pune – NH60 (Nashik-Pune Highway) (4.5 – 5 Hours)

    Via Sangamner. Well-maintained highway.

  • Indore/Dhule (Agra-Mumbai Highway) (6 – 7 Hours)

    Agra-Mumbai highway connectivity.

Parking Reality

On Normal Days: You can drive directly to your hotel or near the temple parking lots.

On Shahi Snan Days (Peak Dates):

  • You CANNOT drive to your hotel if it is inside the Red Zone.
  • The entire Nashik City & Trimbakeshwar becomes a “No Vehicle Zone”.
  • Police barricades stop all private vehicles at the Outer Ring Road (approx. 15 km away from the center).

The “Park & Ride” System

  • Step 1: Park your car in the designated government ground.
  • Step 2: Lock your vehicle securely.
  • Step 3: Board the Free Government Shuttle Bus (MSRTC) standing at the parking lot.
  • Step 4: The bus will drop you at the Inner Circle (Sadhugram). From there, you walk to the Ghats.

The Direct Connection

New Central Bus Stand (CBS) or Mela Bus Stand

The main hub for Long Distance buses (Mumbai, Pune, Indore, Aurangabad). Location: City Center (Civil Lines).

Thakkar Bazar

Thakkar Bazar is a bus depot located within the New CBS complex, from where buses to Trimbakeshwar are available.

Old CBS (Former Mela Stand)

Currently Under Redevelopment ( Not Operational ) 

The original Old CBS (Mela Stand) is presently under construction and redevelopment. Regular bus operations have been shifted to the New CBS complex, where services now operate from a dedicated “Mela Bus Depot”.

Mahamarg Stand

For buses that do not enter the city and just pass through via the Highway.

MSRTC vs Private Buses

MSRTC Priority

MSRTC (Maharashtra State Road Transport Corporation) is highly recommended for travel. These government-operated buses include the iconic “Lal Pari” (Red Buses) and the semi-luxury “Hirkani” services. During the Kumbh period, MSRTC buses receive priority access and regulated movement, making them the most reliable travel option.

Private Restrictions

Private Luxury Buses is well-known operators such as Neeta, Purple, and Hans operate sleeper and Volvo services from major cities to Nashik, offering comfortable overnight travel with AC and semi-sleeper options.

Reaching Trimbakeshwar

Internal Connectivity from Nashik City

From Thakkar Bazar Bus Stand, New CBS  ➔ TRIMBAKESHWAR

MSRTC Red Bus & Semi-Luxury. Best place to start. Frequency: 10-15 mins (24/7 during Kumbh).
MSRTC Bus

₹45 – ₹65 Shared Taxi (Sumo/Trax)
Fare: ₹80 – ₹100 per seat (Much faster)

FROM PANCHAVATI (RAMKUND) ➔ TRIMBAKESHWAR

Connecting the two holy dips.
1- Take a City Bus to New CBS (15 mins).
2- Switch to the Trimbak Special Bus.

Good within city limits, but drivers often refuse Trimbakeshwar trips because of return booking issues. Book “Rental Packages” for guaranteed returns

On Shahi Snan days, App Cabs are treated as “Private Vehicles”. They are NOT allowed past the Outer Ring Road. Don’t rely on them for bathing days.
