Dutondya Maruti Ready for Hanuman Jayanti in Panchavati
The famous Dutondya Maruti at Ramkund in Panchavati is fully ready for Hanuman Jayanti. The festival will be celebrated tomorrow, April 2, 2026. This unique two-faced Hanuman idol is now looking very beautiful with a fresh new look.
Fresh Makeover for the Festival
Bright Colors:
The tall idol of Lord Hanuman has a fresh coat of bright orange sindoor. The open temple structure around it is now painted in bright blue and yellow.
Beautiful Art:
You can see new paintings of the Gada (mace) on the walls. The words “Ram Sita” are written in red color on both sides.
New Tent: ‘
A large orange and yellow tent (mandap) is put up over the temple. This will give shade to the devotees from the hot sun.
All Set:
A notice board is also placed to give information to devotees about the Hanuman Janmotsav pooja.
Why is Dutondya Maruti Special?
“Dutondya” means two faces. This idol has faces on both sides. One side shows Lord Hanuman standing with folded hands. The other side shows his strong form stepping on a demon.
This idol is very important to the people of Nashik. It stands right on the banks of the Godavari River. In the rainy season, the water level on this idol tells the city if there is a flood.

All painting and decoration work is 100% completed of Dutondya Maruti in Ramkund, Panchavati. Many devotees are expected to come to Ramkund tomorrow which is 02 April 2026. They will take a holy dip in the Godavari River and take Darshan of the newly painted Dutondya Maruti to get his blessings.
